When it came out i was only 8 years old and i loved it, so i think it is more important that a child had fun with it rather that what an adult thinks is "lame" i still have the game and my little cousins play it for hours, they love it too.
I remember this game. I loved raising my own dragon; it kept me occupied for hours. I think I was around 7 or 8 when it came out. A lot of fun, and definitely worth it.
